Hello all

I got this rifle on a trade. My friend wants to buy it off me, but i'm not sure what its worth. Husqvarna 1600 (i think) in .30-06. serial number is 225###A. Says Nitro on the side. Peep sights.

I also got a Parkerhale in the trade. The stock looks like this:

Is it safe? or does it need a new stock.

I would get the tang fixed on the Parker Hale before you try to shoot it. It should be repairable.

Full stock Husqvarnas tend to sell for a premium. A normal half-stock would go for $5-600 depending on calibre and condition. Tradex had a few full stock in recently, and IIRC, they were selling in the neighbourhood of a grand. I think the minimum would be $750-800

Rob would probably chime in soon. He'll be a good resource since, I believe, he has a few of those. I'm a bit more conservative with a value of $5-700 because of the stock issue. With that type of a break, the wood behind the front lug is likely broken as well. Those stocks are almost impossible to replace

I believe the stock crack was on another rifle not the Husqvarna. I haven't seen one in that condition sell for less than $800, and the Lyman HVA sight is desirable as well and ads to the value. If your friend is going to put a scope on it you could take the Lymansight off, it would be easy to sell separately

Sorry, I missed that little blurb above the last photo. Then I concur with everyone at the $800 mark. Very nice rifles. My father still has a 270 and a 30-06.

I believe the model designation is 456 on the Husqvarna. Had it a Monte Carlo stock, it would be a 458. Yours is in nice condition and worth at least $800 with the sight.
I have one in 308.

I would say $900 for the full stock Husky. The full stock requires a premium, the rear sight is nice, but judging from the pics there's a little tad of surface rusting! Either way, fine firearm you have there.

the stock on the Helstock models is simply a Husky Lightweight stock with the schnoble cut off, and a piece of wood spliced in. Add nose cap and there you go. I surmise this from looking at my rifles.
