If there are any husqie experts or owners= Bought 2 1640's and 2 .22lr singles. # 1 ser#242###A? why the A? #2 ser#319### with crosspins? seen alot on the net with pins so they were probably done at the factory? was this an option to further reinforce the stock or was the stock bogus? and they tried to fix it? I live in Montreal and planning on shooting them. Theyre in verygood to excellent condition but im looking at glass bedding(maybe paranoid) so i need a reputable Gunsmith (in montreal) that works on husqies. How much does bedding cost? should I or not?? Thnx from a newbie! B2012

Post some pics in the sticky and we'll be able to help you. There is nothing wrong with the 1640 that you should be afraid of. I shoot my .358 Norma Magnum regularly and it's not rebedded. None of my HVA collectors are bedded.
Also, you should find most of the answers to your questions by reading the sticky.
Without pistures I can tell you the following; most of the rifles with the alloy trigger guard / floorplate have the "cross pin" installed from factory.
