Hey, guys.

lots of threads about husky's these days. Ive run into a bit of a problem...

I broke my bottom metal, in an unfortunate bedding accident lol. The cast aluminum part didnt take to much to break it. I wanna buy "new to me" bottom metal, but I'm having a hard time finding anything.

The rifle is a 1640 30-06, I hope I didnt just wreck my gun :(... Any help or any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Have you tried Western Gun Parts in Alberta?
I dont know if you just broke it now ( last 5 minutes) or have done any research hence my advice.
Seriously I am sure someone will have more info shortly or maybe luckily they will have what you are looking for.
Good Luck,
Rob
See, I told you, more research for you.
I knew it wouldnt take long...

Suprisignly enough, Tradeex didnt have anything! I was kinda shocked but Anthony did tell me to keep checking in to see if anything has changed.

One of the few drawbacks to the Husqvarna 1640 series is that spare parts are few and far between. If you haven't done so already, try some of these:

Western Gun Parts (Edmonton)
Numrich Gun Parts Corp. (US, will ship to Canada)

And try asking on Gunboards Swedish Civilian Firearms forum, they are very knowledgeable about anything Husqvarna and possibly one of ther members may be able to help. Here's the link: http://forums.gunboards.com/forumdisplay.php?50-Swedish-Civilian-amp-Sporting-Firearms

Yes! the 1640 spare parts are somewhat SCARCE!
You will have to look at Z-Bay or in the various internet auctions....

Anthony usually don't have any, but you may be lucky.

FWIW - the 1640 shares the same bolt pattern as the M/98 - so, any commercial triggergard for a standard M/98 should fit. But you may end up have a gap in the stock, because the "alloy" floorplate/trigger guard of the late 1640 have a somewhat bigger footprint than usually found for those made for the early 1640 / commercial M/98.
