Got this rifle handed down to me looking for a bit of info on what model and year it is. Here’s a few pictures attached for viewing.
Thanks J,

Looks like one of the commercial 98 actions made in Belgium used by Husqvarna for a while, until they started making their own? Might even be one of their early 98 receivers in a BEECH stock.

They're very good and well made rifles and usually shoot quite well, depending on bore/throat condition.

I believe our banner advertisers, Intersurplus, Frontier, Bullseye have some of those listed.

They aren't particularly valuable, but at the prices listed they are IMHO a steal at $500 or less.

I have several similar Huskys in various calibers. Well made, reliable and accurate.

Rear sight has been reversed to clear the scope.

One thing to be very mindful with a 98 Mauser. The rounds must be fed from the magazine. s the rounds feeds, the rounds rises up the bolt head, under the big extractor. That huge extractor is a guarantee you will never have a stuck case in the chamber in the field.

BUT, if you try single loading a round directly into the chamber (as you can on most other actions) the extractor probably won't snap over the case rime, so the bolt won't close, and the rifle is out of action until you poke that round out. You can wear or break the extractor trying to single load.
