I started having a little problem with my Husqvarna 4100 bolt head extractor not grabbing the cartridge base when I am loading the hand loaded cartridge from the magazine into the breech.
Twice this season I didn't notice it at first and then the bolt wouldn't close on the cartridge and the cartridge got stuck in the breech.
Once I had to go to a neigbouring hunt camp and beg the use of a cleaning rod to poke it out and the second time a sharp rap with the heel of my hand on the stock near the breech shook it out.
Upon examination last time I noticed that the brass was a Federal case when all my other loads are made from Dominion brass.
I must have inadvertently used a Federal case at some point.
What's my problem? It never happened last year at all.
