New to all things Husky,
Are there any factory barrels from other rifle manufacturer's that could be used on a HVA 1640 action? Either by rethreading or using current threads on a takeoff barrel? The current barrel is pitted a bit so if it doesn't shoot I might have to rebarrel it, I'll shoot it to find out first but I like to know what my options are. I have a Remington #1 countour stainless .270 takeoff barrel that I wouldn't mind trying if it was possible.

And what can you tell me about the action, is it a goodun?

Thanks

Any take off barrel can be fitted to any action by a gunsmith... some cost more to do than others... some may require bushing and threading. The labour is more than if it was a new unchambered blank.

Are there any factory barrels that use the same threads as the ones on a 1640 action?

Not exactly the same... shank length will be different I believe... as far as I remember the thread is about 1 inch by 12 tpi... which is what a M98 small thread is... but I think a different length and headspace of course is different.
