Before you decide to commit to purchase, check the stock at the tang closely for any signs of cracking. Especially, if there is a tight fit between the wood & metal.

Replacement stocks are usually virtually 'unobtainium'.

Thanks; I heard about that. I don't think it's cracked. Didn't see anything. If it's starting, I would inject some epoxy from the inside. I think the fit is pretty close. I will probably have to relieve it, if I buy it.

So I finally got a price from my friend. He wants $700 out of it. I was hoping he'd say a little lower, but maybe I'm being cheap. What do you all say?

If he is old give him the $700. If he is young offer $650 cash and be happy.

I’d say it is worth 700!! Looks like a good quality well cared for fun!! Husky are good reliable rifles!!

I say go for it. I have the same rifle in 308 handed down from my father. Very accurate and high quality. If you like the seller it is worth it.
