I stumbled across Husqvarna hunting rifles perusing this forum.

I'm a "sucker" for historical hunting stuff (once a history buff always a history buff I guess) and instantly took a liking to them - despite the fact I have never actually seen one in the "flesh".

Can replacement stocks be sourced for them? It seems like many of them I saw for sale (Trade Ex and others) have cracked/worn stocks. In terms of replacement parts are they "orphans" or do replacement parts actually exist?

Are the actions considered strong enough to handle "full on" powerful modern factory ammunition for the "classic calibers"? In general they seem to be considered a very well made and strong action - am I correct in that assumption?

I apologize if these questions seem elementary, but I'm intrigued and haven't been able to find many answers using the "search" function.

For the older ones, the answer is yes (based on 96 and 98 Mauser actions). For the later Husqvarna actions, not so easy. Maybe someone like Boyds makes them.

^ what he said for the older huskys. Stocks for the 1900 series can be found in Europe but they are pricey. You could also source a zoli 1900 stock it should fit with a little opening up of the barrel channel.

The pistol grip or "tang" crack or whatever you want to call it is usually minor or at least repairable and not a big deal.

You've seen the sticky above with 1,722 postings about Husqvarna rifles right? Baribal is the Husqvarna guru here.
