Husqvarna M96 9.3x62

I shoot factory 286 PPU and they seem kind of sluggish compared to what folks are reporting in other factory rounds or reloading. I wouldn't worry about it in a M96 but I haven't shot them in a Mauser, personally I wouldn't be worried in the least bit but it's good to play safe.

Sluggish? ..... Does not compute. :)

286 grain under 2200fps.

edit, in contrast:
Norma Solid Ammunition 9.3x62mm Mauser 275 Grain Solid at 2450fps
Norma USA American PH Ammunition 9.3x62mm Mauser 286 Grain Oryx Protected Point at 2370
Hornady Custom Ammunition 9.3x62mm Mauser 286 Grain Spire Point Recoil Proof at 2360
Nosler Trophy Grade Ammunition 9.3x62mm Mauser 250 Grain AccuBond at 2550fps

Someone in a thread mentioned reloading for their 24" barreled tikka with 250 NAB's up to or just over 2700fps.

Mine is about a 20+" steyr model M full stock for reference.

This is what Im shooting: ht tps://www.midwayusa.com/product/366534/prvi-partizan-ammunition-93x62mm-mauser-285-grain-soft-point-box-of-20

Work well for knocking down game and a ton less wasted meat in contrast to my brother shooting hot loads with a 300WM/200gr NAB's

One of my handiest and most accurate 9.3X62 rifles is a Model 96 that I bedded and installed a flip-flop pad on. The 270 gr Speers and 286 gr bullets of various persuasion driven at far beyond pussy cat loads are quite manageable. The 270 gr at 2500 fps is very effective on big game.

Essentially, this rifle shoots anything you put into it very well, and it swings and points like an extension of your arm. My bet is that you will not be disappointed if you get one, and have a good recoil pad installed. Factory loads will be very easy to handle, and certainly safe in the Model 96.
