A common cause of breakage of this part is people simply dropping a cartridge into the chamber and trying to close the bolt. The Mauser type actions are what is known as "controlled feeding." That it, you should put the cartridge into the magazine first, then close the bolt stripping the cartridge from the magazine into the chamber.
When you drop a cartridge directly into the chamber, or onto the magazine follower, then try to close the bolt, the cartridge is pushed forward in front of the extractor and the extractor must then try to flex too much so that the extractor goes over the rim.
