Husqvarna single shot 22lr

I recently picked up one of these bolt action singles with an octagon barrel. Turns out i love it and it shoots much better than i ever expected so i was wondering if anyone knew what type of metal is used for the action? Id like to send it in to be case colored and the barrel reblued. Not quite sure how the barrel is attached as im at work right now

Good luck removing the barrel.I was not able to get them out on the last two I robbed the barrels off of .Ended up machining them off.Pressed in and pined.

Thanks for the info. I couldnt see any pins and was hoping for the best. Guess case coloring is out

When you were messing with the Husqvarna .22's, by any chance did you measure the bore & groove diameters?
