Hi, not sure if I'm posting in the right place?

Wondering if anybody can offer any incite on a Husqvarna Vapenfabiks A.B. .270 Winch? It has serial # 2079XX.

The gun looks to be in excellent condition and the owner says he hasn't ever fired it, he has owned it for 20 years. He has many many guns so I believe he has never fired it. I shot it a couple of days ago and it shoots well with it's scope. Wondering it's age and what you think about this model and caliber? Also be curious to know what it might be worth? Thanks!

Welcome to the site. We'll need some more info or pictures to help you identify the gun. If you check the "sticky" at the top of the page, you will find heaps of infomation on Husqvarna rifles. If you take a couple of decent pic of the gun and post them up...I'll bet you will have your answers by tommorow morning....there are some pretty knowlegable people on this site

Husqvarna made .270 rifles in several different models over the years.

By serial number it looks to have been manufactured in 1956, which means it is probably a model 1640 (or a variant of 1640) which was manufactured from approx 1953 to 1967.

There is also a slight chance it could be a Model 2104F which was made in .270win in 1955-1956.

The 1640 is Husqvarna proprietary action incorporating CRF and mauser design elements. The 2104F was built on a Fabrique National 98 (FN98) mauser action.

If you can post pictures with some close-ups of the action someone here will be able to identify it.

looks like a model 4100 lightweight with an aftermarket recoil pad though I am no expert. Worth min 400 I would say (pending closer inspection) Here are my three huskies, top to bottom, 7x57, .308, 7mm rem mag. Would love to have one in .270 one day!

Nice rifle. Looks like the earlier model with the steel floorplate as opposed to the aluminum. I have the mate to it in 7x57mm. Bought mine a couple years ago for $575 with a cheap scope mounted on it. Really nicely balanced and light to carry.

I'd concur that it's a 4100 lightweight. I've got one (1955) in 7x57 that is my best carrying around rifle ever. (Well my Remington Model 700 in 243 is pretty nice and light too)

I've also got a 1953 "Hi-Power" in 270 that is a great shooting rifle too, but a bit more to carry around.

Jump on that rifle if you need a light 270.

Yup, looks like a 1640 action, model 4100 lightweight as it has the cheek piece as opposed to the straight butt stock. Appears to have an after market recoil pad. Very good quality, light, hunting rifle you have there....I have a couple:D
I'd say shes worth 400-500 dependant on closer inspection and bore condition. If you ckeck with Tradeex at the very top of the page, they are a site sponsor, you will see many examples of your rifle and other similar models.
