I became acquainted with the top-of-the-line quality of Weihrauch when I returned to shooting some years ago. I soon had a number of Weihrauch spring piston rifles and a few air pistols as well as a couple of HW 100's, Weihrauch's superb PCP rifles. I shot them often for several years at my folks' summer place on beautiful Lake Penage, not far from where I live. When my now elderly parents sold the place, which was like my private shooting range for airguns and a great place for boating, fishing, and relaxing, I gave up air rifles and moved on to powder burners and shooting at a range. Unfortunately, my club range has been closed for much of this summer and I anxiously await to try out some of my new and new-to-me .22LR's. Until a few weeks ago, I had never seen a Weihrauch small bore rifle.

I recently received this new 2017-made HW 66 Production. It has a two stage trigger that came out of the box at about 7.5 ounces. When I can take it to the range I'll take some pictures outdoors where the lighting is much better.

Below is an HW 66 Jagd Match made in 1991. It has a heavy barrel with a 0.850" diameter. The double set trigger is at a very nice 7 ounces. The stock has extensive stippling. I hope to be able to shoot it soon. This rifle came from a friend here on CGN. (Edit: this rifle was originally mis-identified as an HW 60 JM)

Finally, below is an HW 60J, a more traditional German hunting rifle. Made in 1984, it also has a two stage trigger that lets off at 8 ounces. The rifle came to me sans rear sight, but a generous Weihrauch aficionado from Down Under has kindly put one in the post for me.

Wow, beautiful German rifles! Love my HW97Ks. Just something about German guns that ooze quality.

Your HW 60 Match reminds me of my long gone FWB300S. One of the few guns I regret selling. Another (regret selling) is my Anschutz 1416 double set trigger.

Until a few weeks ago you haven't seen a Weirauch 22LR and now you have three....gosh, you must've fallen in love.

Nice looking threesome and I hope all perform to your expectations!

After a little modification and tuning, my HW60J with 3-9 Leupold RFR is one of the nicest little off hand 22's I've had the pleasure of using.

If accuracy is the ultimate goal, my money will be on the Jagd Match - They aren't common in Aus either but the few owners I know with these Running Boar rifles swear by them. I rarely get to shoot mine as my wife claimed it soon after it arrived.

I thought that rear sight may have made it to your shores by now but I know that some of the gear I'm ordering from the US is coming via Dubai or Brazil (????) and taking ages to reach my door.

Nice trio Glenn,
I still have one of those fine Weihrauch ( my HW60m ) and am thinking about selling, but now I am not sure anymore. They are beautiful and accurate rifles.
Can't wait for you to hit the range with these puppies and give us a report :)

Gilbert

Thanks for sharing.

Will be interested in hearing how they shoot when you finally get a chance.

Too bad about your parents selling the summer lake property. Aging of parents and times changing as a result sucks.

Now you and Gilbert are both Weihrauch fan boys with more than one each. You two can become the CGN resident experts on this firearm brand.

I quite enjoy reading about and seeing photos of the unique 22 rifles you guys get your hands on. :)

Thanks for the kind words, gentlemen. An email today from the grand poobah of the club says the range should open soon. (Of course, almost two months ago the optimistic estimate of time needed to fix what was required at the range was two weeks; nevertheless I remain hopeful.)
