Hey guys,

I'm new here, also pretty fresh into shooting as well. Bought my self a nice used remington 700 tak driver this summer and just recently put some cash down on an AR. I've heard alot about this site soo i finaly got around to signing up.

*edit* I should probably put some stuff in here regarding who I am as a human being rather than just a guy with some firearms.
well im a student at the U of A, majoring in Art and Design, minor in History. I bought a
membership to genesee in the summer. oOoh and I like long walks on the beach... I wonder how many people have said this exact line.

Reminds me of a T-shirt I saw on TshirtHell.com

"Where am I?"
"In the Village."
"What do you want?"
"Information."
"Whose side are you on?"
"That would be telling.... We want information. Information! INFORMATION!"
"You won't get it."
"By hook or by crook, we will."
"Who are you?"
"The new Number Two."
"Who is Number One?"
"You are Number Six."
"I am not a number — I am a free man!"

Partrick McGoohan for the win.

Hey guy's thanks for the warm welcome. yea it's rather odd in the department of art and design, guns are somthing i've always appreciated and being surrounded by all these liberal hippies who arn't exactly accepting of my hobbie is annoying at times. the biggest problem i find with them is that, they all want to be accepting of other people and other peoples views and im fine with that, i will acknowledge and recognize there concerns and occasionaly agree with the validity of their point. But when i try to offer my opinion on fire arms, or they find out i shoot or even own them, they jump up and down as if i had dug up and sodomized their dead grandmother.

That picture is amazing .... can i get a t-shirt. *edit* I need to learn to read, maybe write as well.

Welcome to the forum, it warms my heart to read you're a Art & Design major moving towards buying a AR.

Your new job is to take some of your classmates out and show them how fun and safe shooting can be. ;)

Heh, I already have, one of my classmates was iffy on buying a semi auto and then i showed him the M 14 from norinco and all the cool things you can do to the m14 chasis. But yea it will be fun taking "pretty design ladies" out to the range".

I spent my best years in arts and science at the unversity of saskatchewan back in the late 70's looking for a major. sounds like your critical fellow students revive the old term of "artsy fartsy"

as for the long walks on the beach, maybe qualify that with " packing the proper gear, including the latest digitized desert camo pattern"

Welcome aboard !!!

To Hell with fitting in with the Liberal tree-humping hippies! Your new uniform consists of a camo hat and jacket, with a smattering of blood stains and a knife on your belt. Your new company car is a pick up with glass packs, and you appoligize to no one. Welcome to the nut house.
