So about 3 weeks ago I went and picked up a Tasco Rimfire 3-9 scope for my .22, mounted it, and just go to go out to the range today and went to the 25 yard range.

Ok so my first two shots hit the target low. So I looked at the knob and it had an arrow saying up. Now if I want my shots higher do I turn that nob to the "UP" or do I turn it to the down?

Because with this scope if I turn the nob "UP" it makes my crosshairs go lower so I was getting somewhat confused.

Well if your shot landed lower than where your crosshairs pointed, and turning the arrow up makes the crosshairs point lower then it sounds like you are on the right track.

Think about it this way, lock the rifle in a vice and take a shot. The shot lands low. Now turn the knob "up" until the cross hairs are pointing where the shot landed, and you are dialed in.

adjustment knobs on most scopes affect bullet impact AFAIK.

Bullets strike low, adjust the windage know upwards.

You're crosshairs should move down when you hit the up knob....it will align the sight with the low striking bullets.

God I don't know why I couldn't think straight today, I've sighted in dozens of scopes. Ah well just meant more fun shooting the CO2 powered M203 on the bushmaster :p

I'll try again at a later date.

"...crosshairs should move down when you hit the up knob..." Nope. Totally different from adjusting iron sights. Scope adjustments should move the reticle in the direction you want the group to go. Reticles move on a flat plain.
Mind you, it is a Tasco.

Uh...

Moving the reticle down when the desired point of impact change is 'up' means the group will shift up. Sights down, impact up - it doesn't matter whether it's iron sights or a reticle. Shoot, move reticle down (via 'up' turn of the knob), reposition reticle on original point of aim, and the group will be above it. You will have to move the barrel angle up to adjust for the lowered reticle. That's how it works.

So, I'm sorry, what you posted above is 100% wrong.
