I Could be the Worst Hunter Ever.

I bet you had a good time just getting out to hunt. As far as being the worst hunter, it don`t sound like it. Getting out and being with a good friend and having fun is what it`s all about. Getting game is a tasty bonus. I didn`t get out this year because of various reason and it sucks.
 
Yup it happens to all of us. Afew years ago I was out with a friend new to hunting and I had an unbelievable opportunity at one of the bigger WT bucks I have seen around here. Was calm enough, set up on a tree as a rest, he was maybe 80 yards away. I gently flicked the safety off like I knew what I was doing, squeezed and click! Quickly racked another but I was flustered then and buck was gone. Felt like a complete idiot. I always double or triple check my rifle is unloaded when it's supposed to be, but some how I didn't do the same when it needed to be loaded and ready. For what it's worth my buddy still chuckles at that experience.

You're not the worst hunter ever. That has to apply to some of my fellow Albertans I met this year who complained that they hadn't seen a deer when-- in two mornings -- we'd tagged out on mulies and whitetails in the same zone they were hunting.


You have to leave the saloon to shoot deer.

If you can't shoot a deer in Alberta...................................
