Could be .44 shot. A lot of naturalists liked to use that back in the day to get songbirds for mounting. Pics of the proofs and any other markings would help in IDing. Style is called a poacher's gun, cause it can be folded up and put under your coat.

check the proof marks; if there is no crown over the oval, it is pre 1898 (which I doubt) and potentially antique. Also check that it will not chamber a 410 shell. If pre 1898 and 44-40 it is antique but if 410, it is modern
