I have seen several charts showing which Weaver bases were meant to go on particular firearms, but I can't find anything similar for Leupold bases. I would appreciate if someone could point me to that information. For example, I currently am trying to figure out the application for several Dovetail bases - one is marked "116550", one is marked "116430", and one is marked "116181", in gold letters on the underside of the base. I also have a "116319" which is clearly a rear base (with the windage screws).
Googling "Leupold base 116550" gets me nowhere useful - it appears that Leupold catalogues their bases as pairs for a particular firearm, and gives the pair set a manufacture number, which does not appear related to the individual base numbers.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Not much help here as I only have a 1994 Leupold Catalogue which includes their Part Numbers for all the bases they made then, BUT those numbers are all only 5 digits long, including their dovetail bases.
As Leupold did catalogue and sell their bases in sets, compared to Weaver bases being sold individually, I'd contact Leupold customer support and ask them.

Got a reply from Leupold:
116550 is for Front, Winchester 70, STD WIN 70 RVR, FN Mauser and Weatherby Mark V
116181 is for Front, Remington 541
116319 is for Rear, Remington 541
116430 is for Front, Browning A-Bolt, DD WIN 70 RVF

I did not get any indication regarding how to find this out, other than by contacting them.
