She's old, used and abused. But a free 30-06 won't be turned down by me. Anyone here know what it is I have? I know nothing of old guns so any info is helpful. It is also stamped made in England under the scope

Thanks

Perhaps one of the ones done by BSA. If so, a nice rifle.
Note the rear receiver bridge neatly recontoured for scope mounting, and the checkering at the wrist of the sported original stock. There is probably a sporting rear sight dovetailed into the barrel.

Yep BSA. You can see the purplish tinge of the receiver. Likely to have a BSA stamp under the front scope base.

The Rifle, .303 Pattern 1914 (or P14) was a British service rifle of the First World War period. A bolt action weapon with an integral 5-round magazine, it was principally contract manufactured by companies in the United States. It served as a sniper rifle and as second line and reserve issue until being declared obsolete in 1947. The Pattern 1914 Enfield was the successor to the Pattern 1913 Enfield experimental rifle and the predecessor of the U.S. Rifle M1917 Enfield.

The U.S. Model of 1917 was never officially called a P17, though that terminology has been used.

The M1917 Enfield, the "American Enfield", formally named "United States Rifle, cal .30, Model of 1917" was an American modification and production of the British .303-inch (7.7 mm) P14 rifle (listed in British Service as Rifle No. 3) developed and manufactured during the period 1917–1918. Numerically, it was the main rifle used by the American Expeditionary Forces in Europe during World War I. The Danish Slædepatruljen Sirius still use the M1917 as their service weapon.
