I'm so excited.
I called Lebarons today on the off chance that the elusive Marlin XT series had actually made it in Canada yet. To my great surprise they had 'em.
I stopped the Markham store after work and gave them $205 and change and walked out with this little beauty.
Sunday the young lad and I will be at the range putting our new toy through it's paces.
My first impression is a good solid plinker which is exactly what we're after. The bolt action is extremely smooth for a new gun and the the new trigger feels really nice, nothing like I was suspecting. I wanna get a couple of the Savage owners to runs a couple of mags through and get their feedback.
The only draw is the 7rnd mag. Unfortunately someone beat me to ALL the 10 rnd nickles they had in stock.

Hear you arc. Will see what I can do ;)

The whole thing

Trigger

According to the manual pull is between 3 & 6 lbs.
Gaugiung by the ease of pull, I guessing this one is set around the lower end.

Once the trigger safety is squeezed the actual trigger pull is very short and very light it feels almost "Glock like". But until it's actually fired (Sunday) I really can't say. :sniper:

I called u[ Lebarons and they say they don't have any of the SR in stock or have no plans on getting them.
I want the XT22SR
Me likes stainless. :)

Anyone know where I would be able to get the Stainless version?

Awesome Sunday

Did you get around to firing it on Sunday? how'd she shoot?

We spent a little over 3 hours at the range on Sunday trying this baby out.
I have to say I'm impressed with the overall performance, the accuracy is amazing! We were able to get some nice groups, 5 within maybe 2" (remember we're still newbies so I'm sure a more experienced marksman would do better). We were even able to hit several double holes even with our limited skill. The only minus we could find is with the iron sites which are a little lacking which is something we'll need to figure out before we buy a scope.
The fast-fire trigger is nice, even taking up the safety, the trigger action was still plenty stiff enough out of the box to provide good action.
The bolt was smooth and we had no FTF or FTE's. Oddly we did have 2 FTF (primer fizz but no bang) with our American Eagle Bulk which has never given us a problem in the 795 semi. This may have just been bad rounds as the firing pin did hit round.
As for the feedback from the guys at the range, everyone seemed impressed whoever put a few down range. :)

Hope this helps.

2" groups are pretty decent especially with iron sights. I find it a lot tougher to maintain the same exact sight picture every time with Irons but with a scope I'm sure you will be able to shrink those groups substantially.

Thanks arc, you're right. When I was a teenager I used to be able to score 100's with 4/5/6X all day long from 25 yards. But that was more than 30 years ago and my eyes were way better:(

Anyway we still had a blast and are looking forward another great Sunday (if I get the deck done)
