Our Deer rifle season is soon to be over lets tell some stories. Tell us what you got, how big and what the deer did. What it was shot with and how far.

I'll start...This year I was on a small ridge listening to the two Beagles howl as they passed, an hour to two went by, this buck started walking in from behind me and stopped about 90 yards away. All I could see was his head and chest. BANG!! goes a shot from my Rem 700 .270 learning I missed from the sudden bolt of the deer. As it ran broadside I hit him with the second shot while he pick up speed. Finely I dropped the buck with the third shot. the Buck was a 3x4 at roughly 180lbs.

Well I shot my deer twice only it was 2 days appart.....lol....

I shot a Doe from 200yds she ran I found blood and tracked her for 10hrs before giving up. Went out Friday night and as luck would have it she came out to graze limping along. I shot her again from 160ish yds she went 30yds and fell. First bullet went high missed the lungs and just below the spine second shot 2 days later was 2'' lower and hit both lungs.

First deer in a party of 3 taken in WMU 68a with a remington buckmasters ..300wm shooting crap remington 150gr core-lokts.

10 hours tracking?

yup shot her high above the lung but below the spine she ran and left a blood trail it took me nearly 2kms into the bush but I cound not find her searched from dawn till dusk. Saw her the next day and finished the job she hangs in my shop as we speak.

Woke up a drizzly saturday a few weeks ago. The rain meant no yardwork so decided to go get my deer. Grabbed my muzzleloader and orange vest and hat and hit the trail. I got 300 yards from the house and stopped at a small valley on a power line. Waited for 5 minutes and was just about to start walking and say a flick of white.

It was a medium size doe about 70 yards away on the bushline. With a freezer full of moose meat she was just the right size. She walked to within 30 yards and stopped broadside. I hammered her with a 50 cal, 370gr conical and when the smoke cleared I saw her hobbling away. I reloaded by which time she had gone down.

I went to where I shot her and found white hair every where, damn, gut shot, barely, 1 inch forward would have been perfect. Tracked her and jumped her again. 2nd shot to the chest put her down for good and then a finisher. Hung her for week as temp varied between freezing at night and +4 in the day.

I am done for the year, unless some of my buddies need help. Time to reload for pistol shooting.
