Am I completely out of the loop when it comes to Garand furniture? I was following a repro stock set on EBay for 5hits and giggles and when it got to $250 I thought that was possibly about right as it was a nice looking set that was done as nice as they come but when it just sold for over $500 Plus over $50 for shipping I just about fell off my chair I was laughing so hard. Is this what the Garand market is coming to? Am I that far off the wall in thinking that is outrageous? I know it's EBay and anything is possible but if that's the case!! Maybe I should quit my job and get into the stock refinishing business. And it wasn't even an original lol.

I know the prices of garands up here but down south they sell for under a grand, CMP sells refurbished rifles with Criterion barrels and new stocks for $995. James River Armory sells nice aftermarket stock sets for $169, this stock was aftermarket that sold for $511. If it was a Canadian that bought it then congratulations on a beautiful stock set, if it was an American!! Then Wow!

It may have been a $250.00 gun 10 years or more ago.
Now it's between $1200 and $2000.

just for starters:
receiver 400 minimum
Barrel 260-300 USGI SA minimum.
Oprod( good luck finding one now cheap and unbuggered with) 150 minimum.
Stock(boyds) about 150 with metal bits to your door minimum.
So right now that's about a G note--and we haven't got to bolt,rear sight,gas assy.,trigger group and another 10 or so more internal parts...
