That's right! I caved in a moment of weekness. I was driving along and picked up my cell phone and called Perry's gun shop. I asked them if they happened to have a Model 700 LSS in .300 RUM on the shelf and he said as a matter of fact they have just one left. I asked them to package it up and I also bought a couple of sets of Leupold Stainless Rings and bases. I should be receiving it today.

I then phoned the Shooter's Den in Sudbury and bought a set of Lee dies, FC die, case trimmer, brass and some barnes 168 TSX hunting bullets.

I'm planning on putting my Leupold Vari-X III 4.5 x 14 with the Boone & Crockett reticle on her. I would like to see what I can do with her at 500 yards.

I'm leaving for moose hunting in Nipigon in 14 days. I know it's kind of last minute but what the heck.

I can barely sleep anymore, I'm so excited.

You'll love it! Be sure to get some real slow powder like Hodgdon H1000 or Retumbo ...RL25 I hear works well too. I've shot the 180's and the 200's only and have stuck with them. Limbsaver makes a recoil pad that will simply screw in place of the harder factory one, unless yours came with a R3 pad.

Congratulation, money well spend.
Agree with Chilly, get slow powders, Re25, IMR7828 or like me AA3100.
I like heavy bullets with this rifle, actually I have LSS myself.

Good Luck

Congrat's.

My sendero 300 RUM pushes 168 TSX over 93.5 grains of RL 25 at over 3400 fps and into sub MOA groups out to 600yards +. I love my RUM and want another.

Hey Earl, nice rifle, gonna need to go shooting next week, my Gaillard 338 RUM is similar to that LSS, and I also caved and bought a Rem model 7 XCR camo in 300 WSM.
