Its a Stevens 58... bolt action 12gauge 2 3/4s.

It was dirt cheap, and I only bought it cuz im going grouse hunting this sunday and I needed a shotgun.

Its only lasting me until hopefully next paycheck or the one after that when I can buy a proper shotgun like a beautiful fabarm.

Anyone else heard or have this shotgun?

It's so ugly.... "THE BEAST" suits it the most.

I'll see how it shoots sunday.

I'm almost afraid to pull this trigger...

If anyone wants this i'll sell it ASAP ;)

*the edit*

Yeah it took me a while. Shoot me! Heres the pictures... I hope it doesnt break your screen! ... THE BEAST. The safety doesnt even work... :S

Wow, just looked it up in a gun trader book, and yup not a pretty shotgun, but I bet you will grow to love it. :D

Good luck on your hunt. :)

I Think (wife beater is way out of line) your just giving anti-gun
nuts more ammo.

at first glance maybe

i pictured a fat cigar smoking slob with food stains down his "wife beater" shirt. you know the shirt im talking about:)

So this is the gun that will take your first grouse?

You aren't gonna be selling it anytime soon. . .

Could also make a good slug gun.

ooooh give me a break

can I not wear those wifebeater shirts anymore because im giving the antis more ammo???????

It is ugly! Maybe it will shoot good... who knows.

and Grouseman.... I'm afraid I would have to pay to get people to take it off my hands!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This gun was never meant to have the classic lines of an English stocked side by side, this gun is the tractor or the Kenworth of the gun world. It was made to do last forever , sell cheap and do a job with no frills other than maybe the adjustable choke. You may find it does the job it was designed for quite well , second shots may be a little slower for grouse but in a duck blind in the pouring rain it won't be much of a disadvantage and you may not want to a take a really expensive and pretty gun out in really bad weather. KEEP IT FOR THE REAL BAD DAYS.

Too bad it wasn't a Mossberg 12 gauge bolt with the c-lect choke..."I Need" one of them. :D

The Kenworth of the gunworld? What would a Sterling or Mack be? Kenworths are great looking tractors. Top of the line. I would call it an R model Mack of the gunworld. Not pretty. Not especially comfortable, but will withstand anything.

A bolt action in a duck blind? and one that is slow for follow up shots. Now thats interesting.

Bolt action shotguns (mostly Mossbergs) used to be a standard company gun for mineral exploration camps in the 70's and 80's (along with the inevitable LE No.5 carbine). You'd find them in the basements and storage lockers of most outfits, dusty, rusty but still good to go.

He he!

I shot a couple of rounds of skeet with a 20 guage Mossberg 158 (C-Lect choke and all!) last week... with varying degrees of success.

Ever see a left-hander shooting doubles from the hip with a bolt-action!? Busier than a cat burying #### on a hot tin roof. :runaway:
