Managed to get out for a combination moose/deer hunt for a few days last week. In the area where we hunted, the last day for deer was Saturday and the last day for moose was Monday (I've no idea why the different days). Anyway, on Friday I had two young bulls almost walk over me, but since we only have calf tags, fun as they were to watch, they were out of bounds. On Saturday I saw a nice size doe, but since we didn't have anterless tags, like the bulls, it was also out of bounds. Sure enough, on Sunday when I walked down an old logging road against a strong headwind into a clearing at the end, there was a nice 8 point buck standing there about 150 feet or less away and looking at me without any great sign of being too nervous. He stood there long enough for me to glass him, count his tines, and examine him nose to tail. After what seemed a long while (but was probably just a couple of minutes), he bounded up the side of the small hill and stood in heavy cover snorting at me. I swear he was laughing, which makes sense, because I sure was. All in all, a great hunt, lots of fun, lots of laughter, lots of exercise. No animals down, but that's not a real problem.
