Agree, i guess its in line with the crazy prices that Garand are now.

I'm glad everyone is Garand crazy! I have no interest in buying a garand at the prices people are asking, if they were more affordable then of course I'd have one. Let those people fight over them at $1500-$2000 a piece so the rest of us can afford to buy the guns that we love without going bankrupt!

Each time the idea of putting my Garand for sale, i comeback to earth fast because i couldn't afford to replace it!

That's the thing, I'd love to have one, but in december I got an SKS, turk mauser, Ross mkIII, and a '43 longbranch target rifle. The joke is all of that was around $1000-$1100 shipping included, that's only 2/3 of the average price of a decent garand. I'd rather have 10 historic and very accurate guns the a garand or 2.

plus now you can get the rebuilt Garands with brand new barrels for the price of a used/authentic one. I guess it depends on how hardcore of a collector you are.
Fixed it for you. But on another note quite a few have been rebarreled and totally refinished which is expensive.
All garands are rebuilt. The only ones that aren't are SUPER rare and are at the Springfield museum. So thinking a 'hardcore' collector is willing to over pay for a Garand is hogswash.
If I told you what I buy from people I know and how much I pay for it you'd most likely stop buying stuff on the EE on this site due to having a brain hemorage. However once in a blue moon there is a deal.
Personally I think that people who have over 10 btt's on a WTS ad should have their ads deleted because they're using up too much bandwidth.
