I love dipping

Okay, I said it. I love to dip.......my powder! It may not be as accurate load to load, but darn all I feel all 'old timey' when I take a dipper that I have custom made and scoop up that powder. Yes I know that there are different techniques and such, but scooping or dipping is just....FUN!
To me there is nothing better than studying the load charts then dumping the desired amount onto the scale to prepare for the hunt. The hunt you say? Oh yeah, the other part of my dipping obsession. I like to make my own dippers too. I make them out of all sorts of things. One of my favourites came from my doctor's office. Little plastic specimen vials are great because they are graduated in cc's. I just take my load off the scale, mark the vial, empty it, cut at the mark and look for a handle to hot glue onto it. Sometimes the glue holds a static charge, but no problems yet! Any good adhesive will do, if you don't mind waiting for it to set. The other thing is that the handles can be made from anything. I've used bamboo skewers, wooden chopsticks, wd-40 straws, etc. For a longer lasting dipper I'll take a suitable empty cartridge with old primer left in, do the powder measure thing and mark it then solder a piece of coat hanger or brass rod to it. Then I just grind it down to the mark and file it smooth. I'd like to hear of some other home-made reloading tools if anybody else wants to share.

Cheers,
HoZ

I have everything I need now, but haven't rolled one yet.

I looked at powder measurers for a while now, but decided to dip.
Dipping, and trickling to weight is right up my alley.
I made my own case and bullet runout tool, and Stainless reloading bench.
So much fun! Reloading begins this weekend.

Good for you! Nothing like getting down to the basics. I think you'll enjoy it. One rule to live by when reloading......DOUBLE CHECK.
Stay safe!
