I just love my new rifle........ Finally started making brass for the 6 PPC I put together. Avoided the work as i'm turning .220 russians in to 6 ppc's.
I was fire forming a few rounds today and decided to see what a group i could produce at 100 before I went home.
The last 5 shots of the day gave me a hole in the page that looks like a smudged figure 8, it looks like 2 overlapping bullet holes but 5 went through leaving a hole that measures center to center of
.196 "
:dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

This is with a light load for fireforming, 24 gr. of VV 133 pushing a 65 gr vmax.
5 shots

6 Ppc

Rob cut the barrell at 22" and it has a 1-14 twist.
As this was done with brand new (first fire) brass it wasn't expanded to chamber size till then.

The brass only held 24 gr. of VV133 instead of 28gr. The bullets were 65 gr v-max's , didn't wanna waste the 70 gr. match ones.
Full load is claimed as around 3000-3120 ish. I don't know what these are doing, i'll keep track of that once the brass is all fireformed..

I've been having issues with my chronograph recently anyways, gonna have to contact PACT about this.

Mark , i'm thinking this'll be my new short range gun out to 300,, Use the BR for 3-800 and maybe get the 6XC cut to do 9-1000.
gotta keep up to you somehow, laff.

Ice Pick,
My Nesika 6PPC is running a 1-14 22" heart barrel and she does 3400 fps with the 65 Vmax with either N133 or H322. Out to about 500 she eats my 243 Ackley in the accuracy department, as a varmint rifle I haven't shot ANYTHING that will even come close.

Only one problem with the 6PPC is that they spoil you and you believe that everything should shoot that accurately.

Spoiled

I'd believe that, I thought that my 6 br was really nice but this is just stupid, I never would have believed how effortlessly a rifle could put bullets through the same hole. I was out again today forming more brass.

I've gotta get out to see what it does at 300.

Perhaps you could try to make it more challenging by trying to go for bullseye (the black dot), not just groups (although you're very close to that too).

Are those really five shot groups? Looks like 2-3 holes, max!

Mike,
See how addictive BR in 6ppc can be.
Don't wear out that barrel cause it looks ready to get into the BR matches around here. Will track down Murray and get you a copy of the schedule.I think Doemaster posted the SORSA match schedule on here somewhere....events???
The eternal search for the .000 group. Just measure the widest part of the group edges ,subtract .243 and smile.
We also shoot a fair number of Score shoots in SW Ont.
Rob can give you the lowdown on the matches as well.
See ya soon

Gord should we tell him about Clayton M or let him find out on his own?

The last BR shoot for the season will be on Sept. 21 at Elmira rod and gun .It will be a score shoot .
Clayton has probably forgot more br than some people will ever learn .
