I've pretty much done everything I planed to do with my 10/22. But one thing that picks my as$ is how it looks with the butler creek mags. I know promag has the nomad mag that looks like a 5.56 mag, but I would prefer something more reliable. I was hoping for a extension that fits to the bottom of the ruger 10 round mag that will give my 10/22 the look im trying to achive. Is there anything like that available. If not, have you tried the promag nomad 10/22 mag in the 5.56 stock? And is it somewhat reliable?

Here is a pic of the rifle. The only thing its missing is a mag that will go with the theme.

Thats why i like my Kel Tek su 22, the basic proportions are correct, M16 mag and all, i feel the same as you baout my 597vtr, the hi cap rem looks stoopid, the promag looks much better, whats missing is a magwell, i would have made that integral. You may have to fabricate something.

OP, have you seen these?

They look great, but will be a while coming up here and reliability is unknown...

I have seen people epoxy a mag body to the bottom of their Ruger 10 round mags to get the look they want, perhaps that is an option for you?

Tactical Innovations 25rd composite mag. But be prepared for a loooooong wait. USA is snapping up all of the mags first. Wanstalls has these when available: Get on their head's up list.

I would also go with the BC 25 rounders, but make sure to get the Steel Lips models in smoke color... then spray them with flat black Krylon.

What all have you done to that?

It is not a 10/22... it is a 10/22 "platform" gun... there are no Ruger parts in this one.

Dlask DAR22 Sterling receiver
Dlask Custom 10.5" SS barrel with Schuler 1.25" O.D brake
VQ TG2000 trigger
Boyd's Barracuda stock finished in textured black
VQ bolt & internals that have been "Que'd"
Superior Concepts charging handle
G36 11 slot picatinny with SWAT profile bipod and QD sling swivel
Hawke Varmint SF 4-16X44mm scope with Dura Sight Z2 QD rings
BC-25 Steel Lips mags, Krylon sprayed flat black

There's the recipe.

I have a couple Promag 9/22's and the one works fine. The lips are buggered on the other one, but that should be easily resolved. The Battledyne look cooler but who knows when you'll be able to get one. (I really should get my name on that list)

If you want more toys besides what you have, check out Iron Eagle Tactical. They ship to Canada for free and have good prices on Tacticool stuff.

Here's a pic of the Promag in mine. I got it from HiCal last year some time.
