i need help. i am trying to buy an antique form us

i would really need help from here. i got a thing for a colt peacemaker and i have been trying for a year to find one but a good antique peacemaker usually go for 5000 $. i dont have 5000$ or 3000$ for a antique. however. i found a maxican copy peacemaker for 500 $ but there is no serial number or make which was common for these antique mexican copies. I don't think the seller can ship it without a serial number and more so getting paper work form rcmp. what should i do.

first off most of those copies are 44-40-not considered antique here no matter the year of manufacture.
If it is chambered for a caliber that's not on the "no go" list you will likely have to get a certified antique firearms dealer in the States to write a letter of compliance for you...

Ya also if your buying it to shoot the mexican ones are know for hand granadeing so be carefull what you buy.
Theres no way to date a Mexican made colt copy either so i think your better to save up and get a better gun.
Not all antique Colts are $3000 and up either.

Id rather have a pitted worn Orignal SAA Colt than a like new mexican manufactured gun anyday.

Good thing you are not getting it.I have a Mexican copy and would not shoot it.The gap between the cylinder and barrel is about 3/16 of an inch.

While the gun looks good I would not fire anything like it as I value my hands and life.

I have seen antique SAA for as low as $2000.

Though I'm certainly nowhere near an expert, seems to me from lurking on there that you get what you pay for. There is the very occasional deal, but generally you're going to have to dish out, and even then it's buyer beware.

Well over rated or not there sweet units.
Heres one i just bought.
3 line patent dates are all clear tho you cant see em in this picture.
I got the case to!
Its a very nice unit is a very old renickle but has and Ex bore and chambers.
Its gona be a Keeper to match my other 4and 3/4 inch barreled nickle Colt i have in 44 russian.
It was more than a bread box but cheeper than a new car

Perhaps. They are sweet, well built guns that you can still get replacement parts for. IMO a very important thing when dealing with a gun over 113 years old you intend to use.
