I need help with 303 reloading problem

Innovative, I was talking about a lee collect neck sizing die, they don't touch the headspace.

When you run your case up, a collect squeezes the neck around a mandrel and that's it, it does not touch your shoulder. Kind of like a crimp die.

In cases where I had his problem, it's cause the die was to high and the collect wasn't getting actuated enough, and was not squeezing the neck tight enough. Moving it down increases is squeeze . . .to a point. At a certain point it's max squeeze and the neck is indexed to the mandrel and cannot tighten then neck anymore.

So, he can spin that die down a bunch and it won't make any difference, it'll just make sure he is getting max neck sizing.

If the OP is still paying attention, another trick with the Lee Collect is to, Ram/spin/ram.

Push the case up into the die, then pull it down, give the case a twist, then push it up again.
It can make for a more uniform neck sizing.

Conte .....

I wasn't sure which die you were using. I am familiar with the Lee Collet die. However, when resizing problems occur, most reloaders do resort to over-resizing.

On the other hand, I'm no fan of neck resizing. Benchrest shooters are now FL resizing, because it's better method - if you set your die height accurately. This way, your handloads will chamber perfectly, and there's no need to bump the shoulder in a separate operation.

Yeah, I've heard FL sizing, when done jsut right can be more accurate then Neck sizing.
And I believe it, it makes sense on paper. Hah, that has a double meaning.

I don't have a really nice precision rifle, so I can get the accuracy I need out of neck sizing.
