hello i need help, i got a m1 carbine and i was woundering about, How do you you determine the manufacturer of a 30 caliber M1 carbine(receiver) ?
all i can see was W.R on upper side of receiver. THESE MARKING ARE ON right (W) and left (R) side of rear sight. please be kind enough let me know, thank you.

Look under the over-hanging part of the rear sight. You don't need to remove the sight, but a strong light and a magnifying glass will help.
