Hello Im thinking that my next purchase will be an Ak (probably a RPK clone) this spring (yes I know its a 12.5). Now the question I have is mags, drums to be exact. I thought that the drums that have come over for the cz858/vz58 would not fit the AKs. Now I got someone telling me they will. So am I wrong or will a 5 round cz drum fit an RPK?

Anything I have read would lead me to believe it will not fit. Having said that I have never tried to mash the two together to verify that.
 
the drum for the VZ are originally made for the AK , it was modified to fit the VZ. I have done it myself .

if you happen to have a VZ drum , you could re-mod (brazing required) to fit the AK or better still sell it and buy the proper one .
