I have a Norinco M93. The other night, after a few beers, I decided to take it apart and clean it. It was my first time, I was very nervous. :p

So I managed to screw up the re-assembly, it was jammed up, I could only pull the slide back about a quarter inch. The backstrap could no longer be pushed up for dis-assembly. I had to take it apart, screw after screw until a bunch of pieces fell out and free-ed up.

It has been sitting in a timmies coffee can since.

I am looking for a good assembly instruction, everything I found so far is garbage. Any tips?

I'm going to guess you pushed out (or they fell out) the pins in the side of the gun. I'm also assuming you took the plate off the side of the trigger mechanism as well. Some pictures of its current state would probably help.

Mainly the bottom of the slide (IE what position is the recoil spring in) and the bits and pieces that are no longer in the gun... I've had to put a few of these things back together now due to friends in the same situation as you.

I have a woodsman and this is the best assembly/dissasembly info that I have found.

I would strongly reccomend that once you get it back together you limit yourself to field stripping (ie: remove the slide only) for cleaning in the future. If you must detail strip your pistols, it is better to find a good guide first that will show you what to anticipate, but we have all been where you are!

I have a .pdf file for the Colt Woodsman with parts list, cut away diagram and complete disassembly/assembly instructions. PM me your email addy and I'll forward a copy to you.

I had the same issue with mine two days ago. I managed to pull the backstrap back out again though.

That happened because the recoil spring in the slide got out of its position.
