I'm on my way to get a toren retna repaired and it occured to me that since it was prob spontaneous tear I might want to consider doing something diff with my two .30 mags. I guess my stevens will become a hunting rifle after all and I'm thinking .264 win or 6.5 284. It can recoil a bit harder as it won't get shot too much but my Tikka 65 is another story.
So here it is. I have two long action rifles that I need to tame a little. since the intention was to (one day) turn them both into rifles capable of shooting 1000 m + I still want them to be able to do that when $ allow. As stated above the Stevens can be a bit more savage (haha) but the Tikka will be strictly target and therfore needs to be a bit of a powder puff. So long action factory or wildcat what would you do if you were put in this position. 6mm/6.5mm 06 seem like a good choice. What do you think?
