I am 4 days away from picking up a 300 WSM Coyote Lite is my choice right?
This rifle has a look and feel that I like but I find very few reviews on the beast. I wan't factual data from experiance. I am no fan of one brand and do not need converted as I own lor have owned most NA brands just is the gun a gooder or a lemon and what are the reasons.

i have never met anyone who owned a 300wsm that was really happy with it. in my opinion you are way better off to buy a 300 win mag. there is more knowledge about reloading for them and factory bullets are alot cheaper and easier to find. i also heard but i am not for certain that a win mag hits harder and is faster than a wsm(dont quote me on that)

Well I have shot the 300 win mag for 25 yrs it is an awsome cartridge and I love it. I have been shooting the 300 wsm with a buddy for a couple weeks in his sako and it is excellent! Nosler has switched over to the 300wsm for all testing over 165gr the cartridge is thought by many to be one of the most inherently accurate cartriges ever made. Nosler chose it to be the first for the Nosler custom rifle line it is here for the long haul.

The Sako is nice but the look and feel of the Coyote lite is my turn on its the rifle I need input on! does anybody shoot the Coyote Lite:runaway:

I don't shoot a coyote, but i do shoot a 300WSM and find it does as well as the 300 mag.
it is a single shot so I don't worry about any feeding issues.
I prefer to load cartridges without a belt, and the WSM doesn't have one.

I'm not sure if the WSM is any better than the 300mag, buit it certainly is no worse, and for a precision target rifle that case may be a bit better design, but i refuse to argue with anybody about it, simply because it is a cartridge I wanted to test myself.
If I wanted to build the rifle in 300 mag I would have.
I have used this rifle all the way out to 1 mile BTW....

My first suggestion would be to try shooting a 300WM and a 300WSM. Review balistic data for various rounds etc.

There is nothing wrong with the gun, its well made and good dollar value.

Myself, I like my 300WM better, got rid of the 300wsm.

I recently bought a winchester coyote lite in .300wsm. I really like the look and feel of the gun and there have been no issues with feeding or shell extraction. The trigger is not as crisp as I would like as there is alot a creep.
After sighting the rifle in with some winchester ammo i have not been able to achieve sub moa accuracy. I also own a .300 wm browning eclipse and it will shoot .75 moa at 100 yards and I have shot deer out to 520 yards. Not sure if I will Keep The coyote lite or not.

Interesting I just sold a Ruger #1 that has always given sub MOA accuracy in 300 wm I need not compare data I just have concerns on the Rifle it self what ammos did you try what grain weights was it cheap supreme how many rounds. I have a number of rifles each is very touchy about the grain weight it likes.

The only rifle I have that does not descriminate against one or more bullet weights is my browning a bolt 25-06 it just wants ]to shoot no matter what its happy:D

All were winchester brand and all were 150 grain bullets, the cheap winchester soft points had best group and the supreme elite xp3s and ballistic tips not so good. If you find a good load let me know.

Ditto!! Im a sold win mag fan!!

I have seen Cat's WSM on a Ruger #1 and seen him do some impressive shooting with it also, but I agree with Blackcloud on final choice. You want impact and engergy at extended ranges I believe the win mag rules unless the WSM has come out with new loadings. Also the variety of load combinations for the WM and time proven results speak for itself.

Why sell yourself short.:p

I didn't do a pile of load development on the 300wsm with bullets greater that 180gr. I just couldn't get the heavier rounds to shoot good. Most chrono data I would produce would suggest either the round didn't have the guts to push the heavier bullet or I had not found a good bullet/powder combo.

My 300wm has no issues hammering 200-210gr rounds hard and fast. (Speaking of which I just got 300 210gr Berger VLDs!! Can't wait to dial these babies in:) )

I will let you know as soon as I have some news for you I intended in starting with Fed Premium 180 Accubonds and then I will start reloading till I find the mix I have ordered a Timney Trigger But won't see it in time for this seasons Mule Deer Hunt but all will work out.

No doubt about the 300 wm being the better for the 200 + bullets I reviewed an article showed cut outs on the wsm with 150s to 200s very evident that this cartrige will never be inclined toward the 190+ unless you chamber to seat the bullets at very extended lengths.

This should not set me back with this rifle as I have chose to put the Sherhard 618 v1 on top and need to stay bettween 165 and 180 to get the results I want from the scope.

Sounds like your doing your homework and should be happy with the results. Good luck and enjoy your new stick :D

Well well Well

Have yet to break in the barrel or any thing real dramatic but the Coyote LIte is on paper around an inch and I have a little tuning to do the Shepherd optics seem quite fine and I promise the 1 shot zero is for real I was Impressed I have fired 17 rounds down the tube the final was on a 24" target at 700 yrds so I think everything is going to work I will update as I get some real rounds down the tube.:50cal:

I like the 300 WSM - I am a fan of efficient use of case space and I like short fat cartridges. I almost picked up a Coyote but other projects stopped me. I think you did well in getting one. The heavier weight compared to the classic series will help tame recoil and I am more a fan of push feed actions - I have had bad luck with the last 3 CRF rifles I have had (poor feeding and general mangling of cases). You got to get some pictures up of your rifle
