I bought this Model 1842 percussion pistol in December 2019. (Never shot it.)

I have a blunderbuss that my father crafted out of tool steel in the 1960's. Heavy walled barrel with flared muzzle for "maximum spread". When I was a kid, I remember him charging it with power and a hand full of 1/4" nuts and bolts...then cutting down the bushes with it. Still works great...throws lots of smoke and flame.

My flintlock isn't all that old but it is still my favorite because it is made for a left hander.

Once upon a time I had a flintlock pistol---1950s and early 60s.

I was in Europe from October 18 1966 until October 18 1968.
My Father traded the flintlock pistol shown in the photo on March 18 1968 to a dealer for a new P.38 with a .22 caliber conversion kit.

I traded that P.38 to the fellow that I got my Sharps and Spencer carbines from in February 1990.
