I picked up a sporterized Nagant to save it from a fate worse than death

It was destined to get disabled and screwed on a wall as decoration. I was too late to save it from sporterization, it has a plastic montecarlo stock, the front sight is ground off, rear sight removed and only the dovetail left.

I don't know what to do with it, I can't make it original, the original wood stock was cut short to sporterize it. but the barrel is like brand new, maybe not too late to make a decent shooter out of it. Also it is painted black.

I can't decide between a long eyerelief pistol scope, if I can find one big enough for long range, or drilling the receiver( I know how you guys feel but she has been raped already I can't make it worse) and getting a short fixed 10 power or bigger

As long as the bore is good it can be made to shoot well. they make a fine hunting rifle if you are prepared to mod the bolt body and install a timney trigger (for the safety). Boyds makes stocks for them and so does richards microfit. If you can get one, rocksolid industries makes a great scope mount.
