I should have bought an Anschutz right away

I tried to make the 1/2 challenge 3 or 4 time last year with my CZ 452 Varmint and I always miss it by a flyer or two out of 5 groups... So maybe its the rifle...or me.

I bought a +10% firnig pin spring this winter and a small flag to read the wind, that should help a bit to achieve the challenge.

This year I have the budget to buy my first Anschutz so we'll see how I shoot with it.

I must admit that for the price I paid my 452, I would be a fool to sell it.

Just have to be patient and keep your eyes open for a used Annie.I bought mine off the EE for ,$550 and the gentle man delivered it.Less than I paid for my CZ's.

This is an Anschultz love fest. I have owned many high quality 22lr rifles and the Anschultz are always predictable as being good shooters with some brand and lot of ammo. I did a big range test one time with an assortment of 22lr rifles and afterwards decided to keep my BSA martinis and sell off everything else. The BSAs that had good bores shot as well as the Anschutz. Not better but equal and I happen to like the Martini action. The best shooting gun tested happened to be an old single shot Walther target rifle. It was amazing how well it would group when shot off front and rear bags. However it had a long stroke on the firing pin so lock time was slow. It was very difficult (for me) to shoot it off hand. Long ago sold but I should have kept it for bench matches.
