I actually had a Leupold break on me!
M8 compact 2.5x20 Duplex reticle broke on me on the right hand side where the thin part meets the thick... Now for my own Korth experience...

I thought leupold have a lifetime warranty....seems like a non-issue to me. Even the best quality objects will occasionally break.

Well, it is 30 years old... :p

If you want a different reticle, now is the time...:D

I'm just shocked that I'm actually having to use Leupold's warranty service now... esp. for a fixed power scope! I will ask for a reticle change. I like the German #1 and #4...

You shouldn't be surprised. Nothing is perfect, some of them must break eventually, or there wouldn't be so much good talked of their warranty service.

I just got my fixed (12X) Leupold back from Korth. Not only did they do the repair (not maintaining point of impact, imagine that failure after just over 8000 rounds) but also sent me a letter about mounting for longer distance setup INCLUDING a rear shim. I also got a bill for the repair....lets seeee...$0.00.

I had a 3x9 go south on me once. I got it in very used condtion and looked it. Korth treated me great.

OTOH ... I just this week sent in a B&L and Bushnell [both 3x9s] back to Bushnell for repairs. The B&L won't hold a zero and the Bushnell is bent. This should be interesting.

Bent Bushnells aren't covered under warranty. At least that's what they told me.

I kinda figured that will be the reply, but the B&L was going in anyways and I thought I might as well send the bent one with it to see what happens.

The closest I've ever come to a Leupold scope repair was sending in a set of Mark 4 rings that had the cross bolt inserted 1 spline off. Maybe when the fleet ages some more I'll get to experience Korth's warranty service.

The #4 reticule is about as close to perfect as you can get. I have used them for a long time. You can shoot tiny groups at long range using the centre crosshairs, or quickly paste the three bars on a shoulder or forehead, up close and personal, and slap the trigger. Much quicker than a Duplex.

I sent a set of Wind River binocs to Korth that were not collimated properly. They sent me a brand new set, and they were back in Whitehorse in a week.
