Just like others here I've found Federal brass kind of wanting for the most part. Loose primer pockets way too early for my liking. R-P is my prefered brass especially for the M-1 rifle. Modified Weatherby brass for the bolt action wildcat.
 
Simply "made by" whatever manufacture is not enough indication of quality. Quality comes from raw material, manufacturing, amount of quality control throughout manufacturing. Just because items roll out of the same factory does not make them equal.

It makes sense for low volume brands to contract out the manufacturing to larger companies, but demand better quality to satisfy customers. However I do not believe they should hide the fact that they do that.

Hit the nail on the head there.
 
Twice I sent spent brass to the States with defective dies and twice the brass did not make it to the manufacturer. They even removed the letter to RCBS specifying what was wrong with the brass, I supppose because it said "brass"... The other batch of brass seized was drilled to make sure it won't fire again.. go figure. So, sending brass to the States, which I've done many times before, don't work anymore for me, anyways.
So, no, brass don't always make it IN or OUT the US. My guess is if you set something with a dealer having a proper license, they might be able to ship the brass back to Nosler and by the meantime, give you your new box.

Many manufacturers have their niche product, and say, Norma, in the early days, made most belted Magnum cases for a while to most manufacturers.
 
Nosler does use more than on source but the majority of their brass is made by Norma. There are lots of pictures of Norma Barrels used to deliver the brass to Nosler for pacakaging. Nosler gives them aqway for free to annuyone who wants them.

Both Norma, and Nosler brass or quite soft. If I am paying the premium price I buy Lapua, even if I have to resize it because they don't make as big a selection as most. If that option isn't available I much prefer Winchester brass to Norma or Nosler. The one I have no choice in is my 460, there is only one source.
 
I have to chuckle a little bit thinking guys were buying high end Nosler brass and ending up with FC ! lol

Ill use FC but I wont' go out of my way to buy it. I have the same thoughts about the primer pockets as others above.
 
I must be the only one who doesnt much care about brass. I've never ran into "problem brass". But I only load for hunting rifles, not precision rifles.
 
Well archie i don`t get my panties in a bunch about brass either. I`ve been using a batch of Federal in my 243 for 10 loadings now and it works just fine. Used Federal in my 22-250 for years as well with no problems and it was loaded to the max.

I send brass back and forth regularly to Redding etc... and such no problems what so ever. "defective extrusion for repair under warranty".
