I think I found some really old 30-03 ammunition

Hello CGN,

I was doing some cleaning and came across these 2 cartridges. I think I bought them at a gunshow last year but I don't remember. I tried searching the head-stamp code online but only found very early 30-06 cases with this stamp, not 30-03.

One case is marked F A 12 03 and the other (stamped lighter and is somewhat dirtier) F A 10 03

Thoughts?

It is 30-40 US Krag ammo not 30-03. Made at Frankford Arsenal Oct and Dec 1903.

It is rimmed. 30-03 is rimless and looks like 30-06.

It's not 30-03, as the above have said, but at least you still have some cool old Krag ammo kicking around. That counts for something.

Yep. Finding a few 100 plus year old collector grade pieces isn't a bad thing.
