I just bought a Ruger SR1911 that has fewer than 100 rounds through it. So now I'm thinking that I might actually be the first person in Canada to get a used Ruger SR1911. It's going to be fun when it gets here.

I sold one to a fellow CGN'r a few weeks ago... you may be the second.
Congrats on a great gun.

Yeah, first or second it is going to be great. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas but I never got anything as cool as this for Christmas as a kid.

I WANT ONE OF THESE!

everything i have that is ruger has not disappointed me. First gun = p89, never a jam, 1 clean per 1500 rounds.

these 1911 are ###y

Nothing like that feeling of Christmas morning - too bad that all of us that are waiting are going to wake up to nothing but a lump of coal.
Maybe next Christmas!

I'm not worried about its brief ownership before I got it. I've bought and sold a pile of guns, some of which I only owned briefly. About five years ago I bought a pre-64 model 70 Winchester in .270 and I sold it about 2 weeks later. I was a really good rifle but I only bought it to satisfy a curiosity. By the time two weeks had passed I could see why people liked those rifles so much but I still liked my Ruger single shot better.

That kind of brings me to part of reason for my enthusiasm here. I've wanted a 1911 for years and I've never had anything but good experiences with Rugers so this a a good combination for me.

The funny part about my earlier Christmas comment is that I got a PM from the seller last night to give me the Canada Post tracking number. In the PM me mentioned that due to a lack of packing material at his house the box is stuffed with Christmas wrapping paper. Now that is kind of funny...

yeah I have been really thinking about getting one myself. A local shop here has some for $728. That seems to be a decent price for a good 1911. They sure look sharp.
