I think it's a fair trade

I've been yearning for a .22 revolver for a while now and my wife is always seeing my reading about various models and then hearing about me trying to find different models to hold and try. Anyways, she made a trade proposal for me, so to speak. Her trade offer was that I pick up that revolver I have been wanting and in return, well, starting next week I am going to ballroom dancing with my ###y wife once per week for eight weeks. I think this is a fair trade.

So, I had a line from another CGN member on a Ruger SP101 and payment has been sent, the wait is almost over. While my wife is thinking footsteps, I'll be thinking about that stiff DA pull. :p

Coming to a post office near me soon:

Fair trade fevolvers now... what next? Seems like a very reasonable deal overall. If your wife is really ###y, maybe you should try salsa, which has been called "the vertical expression of horizontal desire". But I digress... Congrats on the new acquisition. I have the .38/.357 version and it's a nice revolver. Not a S&W but still very good. I really like the green F.O. front sight. I got larger grips for mine as the factory ones were a tad small, and also did some internal polishing, although things will smooth out with use. :)

Get a wolf spring kit for it, I may have one , now that I think about it, it is for a single six security six, new.
Ruger does not know about trigger pull, but make good guns.

I made the same deal years ago with my wife. Ride dirt bikes with me I'll ballroom dance. Knowing she's a procrastinator. 8 years later. I haven't set foot in a dance studio. But after a fe w times riding and couple wipe outs she ditched the dirt biking. I don't blame her she tried.

Ballroom dancing once a week, eight weeks for a Ruger....sixteen hours of your time for a nice revolver. Not bad. As a bonus, two hours tango lessons can lead to a very sweaty and steamy evening:rockOn:

Me thinks you're way ahead on this deal.

I tthink I will be needing different grips as well, I have large hands. What did you chose and where did you order them from? Also, is the .357 frame the same as the .22 (at least for ordering grips)?

From what I have read, better springs is almost a must. Wolf will be getting another order from me.

I'll go dancing with your wife. Then you'll have gotten the gun for free! Just don't tell my wife.

Hey now - I got his covered. Here we are about 8 years ago, ripping up the floor a bit at a friend's wedding:

I got the Hogue rubber grips from Amazon in the US (I have an alternate address in Bellingham.) Initially I got the nylon ones but they felt a bit too slippery. I see that Amazon.ca has them as well. I also got a Wilson Combat spring kit from Brownell's. Can't remember which weight I ended up putting in, but it did lighten up the pull a little.

Wow... wild times in Squamish! CLEAR THE FLOOR! :p

^ I looked at Wolff springs and they offer a kit but only offers hammer springs of 13-15lbs DA from the original 16lbs - I guess that's a start in the right direction. I may try the rubber Hogues, but I generally dislike grips with finger grooves and the Hogue wood grips I like are big $$. We'll see.

That pic was taken at the Four Seasons Vancouver, but will soon be Squamish as well. :)

I think you have to be careful about reducing hammer spring tension too much in case of light primer strikes, at least with centrefire cartridges. May not apply to rimfire. As to grips, I checked another company I'd got some grips from, Altamont, but it seems they only do replacement grips in the original size. :( I find that the factory grips are just a bit too short and I have to curl my finger under the butt. Probably OK on a carry gun but not so nice for target work.

There's going to be a Four Seasons in Squamish? I must get out more... Maybe Gatehouse will be hired as head chef if he can handle the drive from Pemberton.

once the revolver comes, it will be about time for that "old nagging groin injury" to come bounding back. Ahhhh tooo bad, no dancing for the foreseeable future. Darn it. Oh well, at least I can take this nice ruger revolver to the range while I wait for the healing to complete.
