I want to try and travel a bit next year and try some events. It's been a process gearing up this year.

Our law prohibits organized shooting events anywhere that isn't approved by a CFO. While you can shoot on private land, you cannot hold a competition without getting approval. I looked into this a lot while trying to find a place to hold a PRS match. A base with an artillery range or a club with multiple backstops are the only real options.

Those of us in Alberta/BC (and maybe a lesser extent our Sasky neighbours) are lucky as there are so many matches close to our border. The PNW seems like a hot area for them these days.

The wife gave the go ahead to do a couple matches down in the States next year so that is exciting for me.

How the hell do you learn how to "do this PRS thingy", shooting on crown land? I don't think you understand how "PRS thingys" work...

Uhhh practice? Shooting off natural terrain features, high angle, field positions, etc. Also, pretty sure Jerry can make some practice barricades.

The SHC this year was a field match.

Bring out a couple of props (barricade, tire, barrels...) and some steel plates. The world is your oyster at that point.
