I was checking out the local shops today and came across a near mint Marlin 5510 bolt action 10ga.....well it's in my truck now and I'm going to play tonight...

Oh God cannot remember if the 5510 was a 36" barrel?? If so had one of those 30 years ago and was too young to remember now if it kicked hard.I know my browning bps 10ga sure does.

10 ga's aren't that bad. Had one of the old goose guns years ago when I was in my late teens. Now I have a double that has less recoil than my 870 3.5 mag in 12 ga! My 10 ga BPS wasn't so nice, but the stock didn't fit me all that great. A 10 in 3.5" vs a 3.5" 12 ga is akin to a 458 vs a 300wm or a 416 - lots of big push, but not nearly as sharp a hit - and yes I have a 458 and a 416 too.
