I took the plunge!!

beltfed- there's no such thing as overkill man :D I know that I shouldn't go over 168gr, but I had no idea that 110gr and other lighter bullets won't work either.

the whole issue is about the remaining pressure in the barrel once the bullet passes the port. Going to heavier bullets and slower powders will likely increase pressure, as will keeping the same speed powders and going to a lighter bullet. So if you want to shoot 100/110 grain bullets, I'd advise switching to a faster powder. 3031, or 4198 maybe? Further research is clearly called for

So is the main issue with shooting lighter bullets is with pressures and it might not cycle properly, or am i looking at possible kabooms with light bullets?

My old man reloads .308 quite a bit, so i plan on getting him to teach me, but for now it will be factory loads. Thanks for all the input guys, i love cgn. being a gun nut is a disease however :D

no kB's, but possible damage to your gas system. Cycling issues will probably occur, and you'll have to tweak your loads to fix

I think its time for a long distance iron comp between a black special and that black socom!
