I was looking to get a 20" or 18.5" barrel with rem choke system and a bead front sight. The closest I could find was 23" turkey super mag chambered for 3.5, but I just want a bead front sight and the Tag was about $280 bucks. FYI my 870 chambered for 3.5 and this is not a home defense project, nor am I going put all the rails, bells, whistles or a cup holder on it. I just want a shorter barrel 870. Easier to get in and out of the truck and the gun boot. Easier to swing in the woods. All of the barrels I've found are either IC or Full bore. Now I can get a 18" barrel for roughly 110 bucks chambered in IC. Who can thread em and how much $$ am I looking at? Or am I doomed to lurk the halls of EE is search of my barrel for all eternity.

I know Dlask does some custom barrels, they might be able to help you out. I saw some threads of a shop in Ontario as well but the name eludes me right now

Casey at TacOrd quoted me $90 to shorten and thread a barrel for Remchokes, not including a choke tube. His reputation is excellent and he is in your neck of the woods.

TacOrd? $90 and a good reputation is something I can live with.Okay searched it and found it. Very good price. Just need to find any vent rib barrel now. Thanks mmattockx. but FYI New Market is 22 hrs and 11 mins or 1895 km from Balmertown. No where near our neck of the woods lol
