I want a Luger ..but

Or....you could just buy a restricted Luger that has already had the barrel change. That is what I did. Advantages: simpler transaction, generally less costly and you see exactly what you are getting. For your suggested budget you should be able to get a collector grade restricted rather than a shooter grade if you buy it with a restricted barrel already fitted.

Lugercollector.com often has restricted Lugers available.

Bitsofpieces in B.C. will do a barrel swap for you. The 12.6 owner will have to send it there so you will have to pay ahead of time. There are some iconic guns we all want but unfortunately it costs. Like the Walther PPK which you cant get in Canada without a 12.6. I recently bought a Walther PPK in the US. A rather special engraved model with carved grips. Am importing it without the barrel, having it shipped to bitsofpieces to have the barrel made at 4.2inches, and then eventually to me .Just make sure if you do this you get a .38. 32 are nono but bits can do a caliber change for extra. Just a fun project but still expect problems and tons of paperwork. Will let you know how it goes. Maybe you could pick up a black widow rig in the US and try the same.Always wanted one of those.
