UPDATE : See post #53 to see the scope...

Hi folks,

I bought a CZ 452 Varmint about a month ago and now I want to mount a 1 inch scope on it.
Scope is a Redfield Revolution 3-9X40

So what kind of rings are you using ? I don't want those chinese Ebay scope rings...
CZ rings looks nice but I can't find them in stock and they are a bit expensive.
Maybe Burris Signature rings...?

I also found this : https://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=175301&CAT=3600
Anyone using that rail ? It convert the 11mm dovetail to 20mm weaver.

I was also browsing their site and they seem to have great upgrades for 452's and 455's.
Can't find on the site if they ship to Canada...

Feel free to post pics of your setup !

Found some pretty nice Vortex 30 mm rings at a local show, didn't break the bank. Depends on your scope choice, one inch or 30 mm, Burris Zee rings are good.

I put Burris or Leupold rings on everything, don't even bother with any other brand anymore. The only exception is, surprisingly, my 452, which has CZ made rings, but those are for the stock dovetail rail.

Burris or Leupold. There are other good brand out there, but I know with those two I'm not going to be guessing about quality - it's just there.

I updated my first post, I will be using a 1 inch Redfield Revolution 3-9X40 scope...
Your 30mm Vortex rings are made for 11mm dovetail ?

I never used Leupold rings but its Leupold so it have to be good.
I have several Burris rings, mostly Zee rings Signature and they are well made.

Where did you bought your CZ rings ?

DIP doesn't ship to Canada, but Kinney's Shooting Supply does. Talk to Patrick and he'll hook you up. I run those bases with Burris Sig Zee rings. Works like a champ. JnP adapters are another solid option if you don't need the slanted rail, and want to run Burrs Sig Zees. I run these as well, and can recommend either option.

Thanks,
Cal.

Thanks Cal, they have every parts that i'm looking for...
But I still don't know what I'm gonna do about the rings bases.

DIP extended railing
DIP magwell
DIP extended mag release
DIP trigger shoe

Ring bases? It goes like this: CZ 45* -> Mount DIP rail, or JnP adapter -> Burris Sig Zee Rings -> your optic.

Done and done.

Thanks,
Cal.

EDIT: If you don't want to use burris sig zee's then it goes like this: CZ 45* -> Mount DIP rail -> weaver style rings of your choice -> your optic.

-Or-

If you don't want to use a DIP rail, go for Talley rings that mount directly to the dovetail on the CZ. There are a few other brands of rings that mount directly to the dovetail. I believe Millet makes some, and I think the Burris Rimfire rings will mount, but I have no experience with either. My experience is with DIP rails, JnP adapters, Burris Sig Zees, and Talley rings.

What I don't like about the DIP adapters ( dunno about the JnP ) is the set screws that holds the rail.
I'm sure they will mark the action.

That's why i'm not sure...

I've edited my post above with more info for you.

WRT to marring the action, you can take a single lead pellet out of a #7.5 shotgun shell and drop it in the hole in the DIP rail prior to torquing it down. The JnP's slide on the the dovetail, and are held in place by the torque on the bases of the Sig Zees. NOTE the JnP bases ONLY work with Sig Zee rings.

The JnP will not mar the dovetail at all. The DIP rails *may* show marks where the screws are torqued down if a lead shot is not dropped in.

If you do not need the MOA adjustment provided in the DIP rail, then go for the JnP. They are slightly lower in height and will allow your optic to be mounted closer to the axis of the bore, and will not mar the dovetail.

Thanks,
Cal.

I don't want to go with Talley rings. They looks nice but I never liked them for many reasons...

I think I will go with JnP adapter bases + burris rings... Now the question is can I order from them or where is the best place to buy those JnP bases ?

I hear ya. I've sold off all my Talley's in favor of Burris Sig Zees.

The only place I know of who ships them to Canada is JnP themselves. Note the shipping they charge to Canada is rather high, so putting in a larger order to offset the costs make sense.

Thanks,
Cal.

Have two sets of Z rings and am going for a third they are very good value and work well for my lower recoil rifles.

One of my friend have a set of Signature Zee Rings on his .308 and it holds pretty well.
I had a set on a 6.5X55 swedish mauser and on a Sako A7 .270 and they never failed me.

@ Ben,check Armurier-Gunsmith website in special. He has a lot of rings in liquidation.

Link for the rings ?
I've found the site but I don't see any rings...

My 452 Varmint wore this base/ring set-up and it worked flawlessly; http://www.dlairgun.com/Mounts/BKL/038_261MB_4_Long_Rimfire_Unitized_Dovetail_Mount.html It's made for the CZ, and I thought it looked VERY sharp too! If/when I get another CZ, I'll be getting another one.
